ABKK Kamrupa Guwahati 14th July 2026: The long-pending demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for six indigenous communities dominated the Assam Assembly on Tuesday, with the Opposition walking out and accusing the BJP government of failing to fulfil its poll promise. The 6th Communities including the Ahom, Moran, Motok, Koach Rajbangshi, Chutiya and Tea Community respectively.
