Vikram- 1 launched
The ABKK-Kamrupa, 18th July 2026: History was created as Skyroot Aerospace successfully launched Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed orbital-class rocket, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. Powered by three solid-fuel stages and a liquid orbital adjustment module, the maiden mission marks a defining milestone for India’s rapidly growing private space sector and its ambitions to become a global space powerhouse.
Designed to carry payloads of up to 350 kg into a 450-km Low Earth Orbit, Vikram-1’s successful lift-off opens a new chapter in India’s space journey, showcasing the country’s growing innovation, technological capability and the rising role of private companies in shaping the future of space exploration.
